The young Spanish tenor Carlos Fidalgo possesses a fine lyric instrument of
ringing tone throughout the register.
After pursuing studies to be an engineer, Carlos Fidalgo attended
conservatoires in his native Leon and in Basel, and recently graduated from
the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional at Auxerre in France, where he
attended the Bilvet School.
Carlos Fidalgo’s early engagements have included: the J. S. Bach Christmas
Oratorio in Oviedo; the J.S. Bach Cantata BWV 70 in Leon; the Donizetti
Requiem in Lyon; the Gounod St. Cecilia’s Mass in Avallon; Mozart Mass in B
Minor in Sissach; Mozart Mass in C minor in Paris and Avignon; the Mozart
Coronation Mass, Mozart Requiem and Schubert Mass in G Major at the
Madeleine, Paris; the Gounod St. Cecilia’s Mass in Istein; the Schubert Mass
in G Major in León and Ponferrada; and the Vivaldi Magnificat in Paris.
Carlos has given recitals in Turin and Auxerre.
Carlos Fidalgo took part in the World Premeiere performances of El Cristo de
la Urna and Virgen de la Soledad de Sahagún by Juan Blasco and Jesús
Blasco, performed at the Auditorio Carmelo Gómez, the Auditorio Obra Social
de Caja España, and Auditorio Ciudad de León.
He was a finalist in the 2006 French National Lyric Singing Contest and in the
2003 National Spanish Zarzuela Contest.
