Sarah Fox
studied at the University of London and the Royal College of Music. She won the Kathleen Ferrier Memorial Award in 1997 and the John Christie Award in 2000.
At the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, she has sung: Woglinde (Das Rheingold and Götterdämmerung); Waldvogel (Siegfried); Zerlina (Don Giovanni); Lucy Lockitt (The Beggar's Opera) and Asteria (Tamerlano) - while at the Glyndebourne Festival her roles have included Zerlina and Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro).
She has further sung: Anne Page (Sir John in Love) with English National Opera; Merab (Saul), Mimi and Musetta with Opera North; Servilia (La Clemenza di Tito) with Welsh National Opera and Iphis (Jeptha) and Cleofide (Poro) at the Edinburgh International Festival.
Abroad, she has performed: Michal (Saul), Asteria and Eurydice (Orphée et Eurydice) at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Munich; Susanna at the Royal Danish Opera; Woglinde (Das Rheingold) at the Salzburg Festival and Zerlina at the Cincinnati Opera Festival.
She has toured throughout Europe and the USA as Josabeth (Athalia) with the Köln Konzert under Ivor Bolton; recently sang Mahler's 4th Symphony in Britain and Europe with the Philhamonia under Lorin Maazel and has just made her debut at the Liceu in Barcelona opposite Placido Domingo.
Her extensive international concert career includes engagements with: the Bach Choir; the Berlin Philharmonic; the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the English Concert, the Gabrieli Consort, the Hallé, the John Wilson Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Philharmonia, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony. She has made numerous recordings of opera, concert and lieder works.

Fox has a huge, bright, vibrato-free, clarion sound with perfect attention to every little turn and grace note, the perfect instrument for Josabeth's passionate convictions - she could be a young Sutherland.
