 Melody Moore
a 2007 Adler Fellow at San Francisco Opera, is one of opera’s most exciting young sopranos.

The British critic, Edward Seckerson, commented on her English National Opera debut that, "This young lady is special. She has the most distinctive dark complexion to her voice, and she sings and phrases with real fantasy. She alone really filled the house, and hearing the voice open to greet the coming spring in her Act I aria was for sure one of the high spots of the evening."

For San Francisco Opera, she has sung Magda, Mimi, the Countess Almaviva and Susan Rescorla in the World Premiere of Christopher Theofanidis’ Heart of a Soldier

For Los Angeles Opera, she has sung Contessa Almaviva and performed principal roles in Der Zwerg and Der Zerbrochene Krug.

Further North American engagements include: Mimi for Opera Cleveland; Manon Lescaut for New Orleans Opera; Suor Angelica for Orlando Opera; Donna Anna for the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and Rita Clayton in Séance on a Wet Afternoon and Régine in Prima Donna for New York City Opera.

Melody Moore made her European debut with English National Opera as Mimi in a new production of La Boheme directed by Jonathan Miller. She returned to the company the following year, as Marguerite in Gounod's Faust, a new production directed by Des McAnuff.

Melody Moore recently sang and recorded the world premiere of Gordon Getty's Plump Jack with the Bayerische Radfunks.

Future engagements include: Erste Dame with San Francisco Opera, her first Pamina with Opera National de Bordeaux and Donna Elvira with Atlanta Opera and Opera Colorado. She will perform the role of Julie in Showboat at Houston Grand Opera, the first of several of contracts with the company.

La Boheme / ENO
Melody Moore was a touching Mimi with a generous, smoothly produced soprano that filled out the Coliseum with apparent ease. Hers is a voice that has just that mix of spinto power and vulnerability that the role needs and she's singer who would not be out of place across the West End, singing the role on the Covent Garden stage.
